Allison is a PhD student at the University of Oxford, where her research focuses on the atomistic modelling of optoelectronic perovskite materials. By combining computational and theoretical methods, her work supports the design of next-generation materials for energy and photonic applications. Alongside her doctoral research, Allison is a Project Manager and Technical Fellow at WISER. In this role, she develops machine learning methods for materials design. Beyond her research, Allison is deeply committed to teaching and outreach. She serves as a Graduate Development Scholar at St. Anne’s College, Oxford, where she teaches undergraduate mathematics and mentors first-year students.

Connor is a PhD candidate in Physics at the University of Minnesota, where his research focuses on quantum communications, quantum circuit partitioning, and scheduling. His work explores how to design scalable, efficient methods for simulating and optimizing quantum networks, as well as identifying tradeoffs and benefits in circuit partitioning for practical applications. As a WISER Fellow, Connor has spent the past year working on the development of scalable quantum circuit partitioning algorithms. His team’s work aims to advance methodologies that can support both quantum scheduling and communications research, building a foundation for more efficient use of quantum resources. Previously, Connor was a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he worked on sustainability in datacenter computing, hardware analysis, and instrumentation for X-ray astronomy. He has also gained extensive teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota. Outside of the lab, Connor enjoys traveling, hiking, and adventuring in new and unfamiliar places, experiences that help him clear his mind and fuel his motivation for research.

Justin is a WISER QSL Fellow and PhD researcher in Computer Science at Louisiana State University, where his work bridges advanced software engineering with quantum computing. ​ Justin's career began with roles as a Student Trainee in Computer Science at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and as a Technical Assistant at Southeastern, where he developed software systems for publications, equipment management, and data tracking. Justin's research currently focuses on Distributed Quantum Computing in collaboration with NNL.

Dimitrios is a theoretical physicist whose research spans quantum field theory, general relativity, and quantum information. His work explores some of the most extreme frontiers of nature, from black hole evaporation to the expanding Universe, asking how far quantum behaviour extends and when classical physics takes over. A central focus of his research has been computing entanglement to address foundational questions at the intersection of Einstein’s general relativity and quantum mechanics. He earned his PhD in Physics at Louisiana State University, following undergraduate studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Dimitrios entered the world of quantum algorithms through the Womanium Quantum + AI Bootcamp (2024), where he worked on designing quantum algorithms to simulate the evolution of interacting harmonic oscillators. Selected as a Quantum Solutions Launchpad (QSL) Fellow, he has since helped advance this project from theoretical proposals to implementation and benchmarking on real hardware. His work emphasises not only developing algorithms, but also identifying physical frameworks where they can deliver real-world impact. For Dimitrios, the Womanium and WISER ecosystem has been instrumental in bridging his theoretical background with practical quantum computing research. He is motivated to continue developing models and frameworks that help unlock quantum power for meaningful scientific and technological advances.

Krishnageetha Karuppasamy is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Oklahoma State University specializing in quantum algorithms for non-unitary operators and scientific simulation. Her research spans variational quantum algorithms, tensor-network methods, and sparse operator decompositions, and quantum applications. She is also a Qiskit Advocate (2025).​

Miles is a fifth-year PhD student in Electrical Engineering at Brown University, where he studies the physics of classical and quantum information flows. His fascination with quantum began in high school, when a physics seminar introduced him to Griffiths’ Introduction to Quantum Mechanics. Alongside his doctoral research, Miles serves as Co-Director of the Brown Quantum Initiative, where he supports the university’s growing quantum research community. As a WISER Fellow, Miles has focused on applying computational methods to materials science. His team’s project explores radiation-resistant metals for nuclear applications, using density functional theory (DFT) data to model atomic interactions and train predictive models of material resilience.

Rushil started working in quantum in 2018 through the Freshman Research Initiative program at the University of Texas at Austin. As a computer scientist, he was excited to work with an idea that felt more real and tangible. It was at this time that Rushil noticed WISER's fellowship program decided to immediately apply, He saw WISER as the perfect opportunity to explore quantum simulation with security.

Anjolie is an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, College Park studying Electrical Engineering. She began her journey into quantum during her senior year of high school where she studied quantum key management for space-air-ground integrated networks. Then during the summer of her freshman year of college, she joined the Center for Quantum Networks as an REU. Following that summer she joined WISER as a Quantum Fellow, and designed a quantum magnetometer for use as a tool to revolutionise quantum hardware education, using only commodity parts. The design ended up costing less than $1,000 by replacing the use of expensive, heavy rack-mount parts.

Arun’s path into quantum began in high school, sparked by headlines on quantum supremacy that inspired him to experiment with early projects in quantum computing. His curiosity quickly grew into research collaborations with a mentor at the University of Waterloo, where he worked on quantum error correction and quantum simulation (Trotterization). Arun is pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Stanford University, where he continues to explore the intersections of quantum computing, AI, and health technology. At Stanford, Arun joined the WISER Fellowship to continue pursuing his passion for quantum, gaining hands-on experience through the Quantum Solutions Launchpad (QSL).

Mackenson is a Quantum Applications Research Scientist with a PhD and Master’s in Energy Engineering from the Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico. His research focuses on applying simulation, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing to address complex challenges across energy, materials science, and finance. As a WISER Fellow, Mackenson contributes to the Quantum Machine Learning for Energy Applications project, where he leverages his interdisciplinary background to connect fundamental research with practical engineering solutions. His work highlights the potential of quantum and AI methods to accelerate progress in sustainable energy systems and high-performance materials.

Varun is a PhD candidate at Oklahoma State University, specializing in Quantum Information Theory and Optimization. He also works as Quantum Computing Researcher at the American Family Insurance, where he is exploring quantum k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN) algorithms for fraud detection and high-dimensional data analysis. Varun’s journey into industry began with the QSL Fellowship at WISER, which gave him the opportunity to bridge fundamental quantum theory with practical engineering solutions. Today, his work reflects a commitment to advancing both the theory and real-world impact of quantum computing.
