About the Role

Embark on an exciting journey with Quantum Solutions Launchpad (QSL), a fast-growing initiative that support the journey of young quantum talent from academia to industry. We work with leading industries and organizations and have delivered 15+ projects, partnered with 85+ organizations, and built a vibrant community of 46 QSL fellows - all within just two years. We are seeking motivated researchers to join an industry-application project on applying quantum computing algorithms to core financial applications.

As a Finance research fellow, you will act as a bridge between quantum researchers and classical financial models. The role is ideal for researchers with strong finance or quantitative research backgrounds who are interested in working at the intersection of classical financial modeling and emerging quantum technologies. While prior experience in quantum computing is not required, curiosity and strong interest in the domain are highly encouraged. You will gain exposure to real-world financial challenges, collaborating with global industry partners, and work on industry-grade problem statements.

Whether you’re seeking flexibility or full-time commitment, you’ll work 100% remotely, collaborate closely with a lean, high-performing team, and have a direct voice in strategic decisions. Come build the future of quantum innovation with us!

Who you are:

  • MS (research)/ PhD/ PostDoc experience in Finance, Quantitative Finance. Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related fields.

  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and love taking ownership of ideas from concept to execution.

  • Well versed in financial risk modeling, quantitative analysis, statistical analysis and inference, optimization methods, stochastic processes and applied algorithms.

  • Research experience in AML workflows, anomaly detection techniques, pattern recognition and pattern mining in high-dimensional datasets.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with real-world financial data and problem constraints.

  • Proficiency in Python, data visualization and exploratory analysis.

  • Strong writing and presentation skills; you can make complex quantum topics clear and compelling.

  • Remote work isn’t for everyone; you’re disciplined, organized, and proactive in managing your day.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct applied research in quantitative finance, with a focus on AML, fraud detection and risk modelling.

  • Translate financial problem statements into mathematical and algorithmic formulations suitable for classical, hybrid, or quantum-inspired approaches.

  • Evaluate existing classical financial algorithms and assess their suitability for quantum or hybrid enhancement.

  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams across academia and industry to refine use cases and research directions.

  • Maintain high standards of documentation, reporting, and project communication.

  • Represent QSL at Conferences: Attend select industry events (limited travel) to network, present, and showcase our unique value proposition.

Compensation

    Salary commensurate with experience.
