2025 Quantum Projects

Whether you're aiming for a  Quantum Industry Fellowship at the Quantum Solutions Launchpad or simply looking to gain experience, this is your chance to go from theory to impact.

Online from 1 July 2025

Learn. Grow. Get Wiser!

Welcome to the WISER 2025 Quantum Projects, the capstone phase of your journey through the Quantum 2025 program. This is your opportunity to apply what you’ve learned to real-world challenges, collaborate with peers, and showcase your quantum problem-solving skills to global experts and industry partners. Whether you're aiming for a QSL Fellowship or simply looking to gain experience, this is your chance to go from theory to impact.

Even if you did not go through the WISER 2025 quantum training sessions, you can still participate in the projects. So, if you haven't done it already, please enroll here.

1

Quantum Walks and Monte Carlo

This project builds on the foundations of the Quantum Fourier Transform and its potential for exponential speed-up over classical methods.

Explore how quantum circuits can simulate complex systems through a Galton Box-style Monte Carlo problem, an approach relevant to high-dimensional challenges like particle transport and quantum systems.

2

Quantum for Finance

This challenge, developed with Vanguard, explores how sampling-based quantum optimization can be harnessed to overcome the limitations of classical computing barriers.

The project focuses on using binary decision variables and quadratic objectives to simulate realistic trading scenarios. The challenge lies not only in achieving computational gains but also in maintaining interpretability, robustness, and alignment with investment principles.

3

Quantum PDE Solvers for CFD

This project, developed in partnership with BQP, explores how quantum circuits can solve nonlinear fluid equations using QTN and HSE frameworks, offering new paths to simulate shockwaves in fluid flows.

By compressing state spaces and reducing circuit depth, participants will benchmark quantum solvers on the Burgers’ equation, laying the groundwork for scalable, noise-resilient quantum CFD.

You can watch the video below to guide you through the entire project timeline and instructions.

Project Process

From team formation to final submissions, this is your chance to explore cutting-edge applications and build something meaningful. Key dates and milestones will guide you through the process, from selecting your project and forming a team, to submitting your work and presenting at Demo Day.

Whether you're here to learn, experiment, or push the boundaries of what quantum can do, this is where it starts.

Timeline:

  • July 1: Project starts

  • Aug 10: Project submission deadline

  • Aug 20: Finalists announced and invited to present on Demo Day

  • Aug 25: Demo Day

  • Sep 1: Winners announced and QSL fellows shortlisted and future opportunities announced

Eligibility & Code of Conduct

Before participating, please carefully review the Eligibility Criteria. These guidelines are designed to ensure a fair, and respectful environment for all participants. Adhering to them is required for continued involvement in the program.

July 2025

Project Selection

Choose your project by the deadline based on your team’s interests and skills. Each project has its own goals and requirements. Click the arrow for more details.

July 5, 2025

Team Formation

Form your team by July 5, 2024 by connecting with other participants on the 2025 Quantum Program. Each project has specific team requirements you can find out more here.

July 5 to August 09, 2025

Project Work Period

Teams must work on their public team repository from July 5 to August 9, 2024, using a fork or duplicate of their selected project. The contents of this repository will be treated as the final submission for judging.

August 10, 2025

Project Submission

Teams must submit their project by the deadline to qualify for Demo Day. Judging is based on originality, technical depth, impact, and clarity. Learn more about submission requirements.

August 20, 2025

Finalist Selection

A committee will review all submissions and invite top teams to present during Demo Day. This is a high-visibility opportunity to share your work with our partners.

August 25, 2025

Demo Day

Finalist teams will present their projects in a fast-paced, 5-minute pitch format to a distinguished panel of judges from industry, academia, and government.

September 1, 2025

Winners Announced

Selected by a panel of expert judges, the winning teams will be recognized for their innovation, technical excellence, and real-world impact. Stay tuned for the official announcement!
